Expression Studio 2 released...but be prepared to empty your wallet Minimize

The good news is that MS officially released Expression Studio 2 late last week.  I am a bit peeved though.  I bought an Expression Studio upgrade license in January for $349 and will now have to pay another $349 if I want to upgrade to Studio 2.  Only those who bought Expression Studio after 2/24 can upgrade for free.

What really ticks me off about this is that they are offering the same pricing to those who just stuck with an Adobe or competing product until v 2 came out.  I could understand a $100 upgrade fee from Studio 1 users, with the $349 fee being for upgrading from Adobe/etc. but to double charge me $349 as an existing user is frustrating.

I will likely not pay it.  I get Expression Blend 2 as part of MSDN and really only got the studio for Design.  As I only use Design for very basic image manipulation its probably not worth another $349 to me.

Am I the only one out there a bit peeved about this?  Let me know what you think by leaving a comment!
